Who We Are: The California Parent Center (CPC), located at the San Diego State University Research Foundation, is a state level training center that works in consultation with the California Department of Education to provide technical assistance to districts, schools and parent leaders to help them to establish partnerships that directly support increased student achievement What We Do: The CPC partners with districts and county offices of education across the state to schedule Leadership Development Trainings titled, “Closing the Achievement Gap: Using Parent Involvement to Increase Student Success and Academic Achievement.” We also offer a yearly Parent Liaison Certificate Program for paraprofessionals and those who supervise them in conjunction with the San Diego State University College of Extended Studies. -- Jeana Preston, Director, California Parent Center. |
